abbie-ette #7- tonight, i asked abbie to bring her plate to the table (her plate was full of food). she gave me a puzzled look, flipped her plate over and dumped her dinner on the floor, then brought "her plate" to the table. such an obedient child...i guess mommy needs to be more clear.

abbie-ette #9- so, on the way home today, caleb was screaming, as only a hungry baby can...abbie was yelling, "mama, baby chy, mama, baby chy, mama, baby chy (baby cry)," just in case i didn't know the baby was crying...jonah had his hands over his ears, and was singing at the top of his lungs...i could have tried to quiet them, but instead i laughed, opened my window, and thought about how thankful i was for the sounds coming from my backseat. i am so grateful to be a mommy!

abbie-ette #20- so...all day yesterday, i was puzzled by the crunching noise i kept hearing whenever i was near abbie...every time she would sit down, it was especially loud...while getting her into her pjs, i found the source...a giant wad of crumpled packing tape, stuck to the back of her pull-ups...yes! we are still unpacking.

abbie-ette # 37- abbie walked into the room, hands covered in marker, head down, and in a quiet little voice said, "uh-oh mommy, i go sit tom ut." she put herself in time-out, then came over and gave me a big kiss, picked up the baby wipes and said, "i sorry, mommy. me fix it?"

december 8, 2011 (27 months)

abbie-ette #42- every day after we drop jonah off at preschool, abbie gets a really sad pouty face and says, "ah mith mah jojo, ah pay my jojo" (i miss my jojo, i play my jojo). she probably says this about 50 times between dropping him off and picking him up. her play buddy is gone. makes a mommy's heart hurt...

abbie-ette #59- i just told abbie that if she woke caleb up, she would be in time-out. she quickly nodded her head, flashed a big smile and said, "ah go tom ut!" she then ran into caleb's room screaming, "baby weck up, weck up, weck up!" luckily, i was able to quiet her down before he actually woke up. her choice to wake up her brother even though it meant a time-out, clearly shows that i am a highly effective parent...ugh!

abbie-ette #61- so, my little abbie loves bath water...not just soaking in it and playing in it (although she does love that), but drinking it...yuck! she always finds some bath toy to use as a "cup" and sips away. maybe I should start giving her hot herbal tea! it would be a much better alternative to the toddler bum tea she is drinking now.

abbie-ette #78- abbie is in the pretty princess phase right now. everything she loves gets dubbed "piddy pintheth ______" so today she is wearing her "piddy pintheth shut (shirt), piddy pintheth shutshut (sweatshirt), piddy pintheth panth (pants), piddy pintheth thockth (socks), and piddy pintheth wane boot-th (rain boots)"... she's such a girl!

abbie-ette #83- walking out to the car, caleb crying, jonah jumping in the snow banks, and abbie carrying her magic wand. abbie exclaims, "watch, mommy! mah match-ee won an match-ee show (my magic wand and magic show)!" (waves wand over caleb's face) "abbah chabbah! chay-bub th-top chy-in (abracadabra! caleb stop crying!)!" he actually did stop crying, but i think it had more to do with the sparkly (potentially edible) thing in his face. than the magic trick.

abbie-ette #89- abbie ran into the kitchen with a beaming smile and said, "chum (come) mommy, chum! ah made a paw-duh pitch-uh foe you, see?! do you luf it, mommy?!?!?"
